HYDROLYSED PROTEIN

HYDROLYSED PROTEIN

Hydrolysed or hydrolyses is a method of adding water to protein molecules to help break (lyses) them into smaller parts called peptides. Peptides are collections of 2 to 5 amino acid (the building blocks of protein) chains which are theoretically absorbed faster. It is something like a form of pre-digestion. Source indicate that this method is the most expensive approach to concentrating proteins and rarely appears as the first ingredient on a protein supplement label. Some companies will add enough to get it on the label in an attempt to make their product look better.

LOSING WEIGHT

LOSING WEIGHT

I am not advocating that we should be complacent about obesity. Its just that continued focus on weight loss seems counterproductive and may be quite hazardous to the health of those who continually battle their weight. Each year millions of people attempt to lose weight, shelling out crores of rupees in the process. But despite our perennial efforts to shed kgs, our waistlines are getting bigger, not smaller. It seems what ever we lose, we gain back-and then some. Not only can this be damaging to our self-esteem and mental health, chronic fluctuations in body weight may also do physical harm.

HEPATITIS

HEPATITIS

Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver, usually of viral origin, but it may also be caused by drugs or alcoholism. Hepatitis A is transmitted by contact with contaminated water or food, stool, blood, or secretions. Hepatitis B is transmitted primarily through blood transfusions or contaminated needles. Hepatitis C occurs mostly after blood transfusions, causing acute hepatitis that may become chronic. Legally it is necessary to call the local health department to report a newly diagnosed case of hepatitis.

METABOLIC FITNESS

METABOLIC FITNESS

We need a new approach to health and fitness-one that places less emphasis on body weight (or body fat) and more emphasis on healthy metabolism-becoming “metabolically” fit. To achieve “metabolic fitness” does not require having a lean body, nor does it depend upon having the cardiovascular system of an endurance athlete.

INDIGESTION AND HEARTBURN

Indigestion and heartburn are common conditions following eating too much or not being able to digest food properly.

SYMPTOMS

Indigestion can include nausea, gas, belching, stomach pain, and heart burn. It usually occurs in the two hours immediately after eating. Heart burn is burning pain in the chest behind the sternum, which is associated with the reflux of acidic or caustic stomach fluids into the esophagus. Heartburn may occur after eating any food which stimulates acid production in the stomach, such as proteins, spicy foods, or chocolate.

ROAD TO FITNESS

ROAD TO FITNESS

It may seem intuitive that exercising more and eating better will naturally result in weight loss. This generally is true, but with a major caveat. Not everyone will lose weight and it is virtually impossible to tell how much any one person will lose. Most exercise programmes and typical diets result in a weight loss of not more than 3 to 5kg (32); the average “overweight” adult wants to lose 10 to 15 kg! This discrepancy between what people want and what exercise and healthy eating are able to deliver highlights the fundamental problem with using weight loss or reductions in body fat to judge the success of an exercise programme or nutrition plan.

FINANCES, RELATIONSHIPS AND MENTAL WELL BEING

The quality of your life is directly related to your standards. A standard is a personal rule or expectation about the level of excellence you require inn something and when you raise your standards you change your life.

In my work as a professional coach, i’ve found that most people haven’t taken time to define their standards. Invariably, they’ve inherited rules from others, leading them to live their lives using someone else’s game plan, if you’d like to improve the quality of you life, considerincreasingyourstandards.
